A USAID supported project, the deployment of the first interbank communication network, CBA Net, connected the Central Bank with commercial banks, their branches, and key government agencies, namely the Ministries of Finance, Customs and Treasury. This network represented the country's financial backbone, allowing for secure electronic transactions among financial institutions to take place.
Alexius also collaborated with the Central Bank of Armenia during a second phase where the network was upgraded from an x.25 network to an expanded frame relay network using TCP/IP.
