As part of the natural evolution of financial services required in a post-soviet Armenian economy, USAID sponsored an interbank payment systems that would operate on top of CBANet, the national financial network. Bankmail, as the interbank payment system is known, provides payment services across all of Armenia's financial institutions, both public and private sector. The application's sophisticated and secure messaging system is in accordance with international standards, including normatives established by SWIFT, ensuring complete transparency and security between local and international payment transactions.
