National Digital Cities Forum - Medellín, Colombia
Alexius International was invited to present an international expert opinion in one of a series of National Forums on ICTs in Colombia. Participants from around the country were present for this Digital Cities program.
On May 9th of this year, David W. Mendoza, Alexius International's Managing Director spoke at Colombia's national forum on Digital Cities, part of a series of ICT events that form part of a country-wide dialogue on the application of technologies to expand economic and social opportunity in Colombia. These events are jointly sponsored by the local city government, in this case by the City of Medellin, along with Semana, Colombia's premier news and social commentary journal.
The presentation delivered by Alexius presented three case studies from developed nations and one example from Armenia, which provided an example from a transitioning economy. The studies selected provided a cross-section of the type and variations of digital cities programs, including the role that national and local government have played. The cities selected included the City of Cleveland, London, and Seoul.
