Internships

Alexius International (AI) is an international development firm that focuses on innovative ICT solutions, technology services and media production. AI is based in Washington, DC and has offices around the world. 

AI is seeking interns for the Washington, DC office that will be accepted on a rolling basis for the Spring 2009 semester. Work hours, including start and end dates for the internship are flexible. There is no major requirement. A demonstrated interest in international development, information and communication technologies and/or media production is preferable. 

This opportunity provides interns with exposure to development practitioners who specialize in providing innovative ICT solutions for development programs funded by USAID and other local and international organizations. Interns will gain an insiders understanding of government and small business contracting.

Successful candidates are skilled in the formal processes of research and writing, have high energy and initiative, and are creative and resourceful. Proficiency in a foreign language (Spanish preferred) and familiarity with Mac OS X operating system are also favorable attributes.

Responsibilities will include:
•    Research and writing on topics to include market trends and forecasts among other specific development related topics
•    Assistance in the development and creation of marketing materials
•    Proposal opportunity monitoring / evaluation
•    DC office support
•    Other tasks and willing collaboration as identified

Internship positions are not remunerated.

Alexius International’s Washington, DC office is located in Chinatown.
